Black-capped Petrel on pelagic expedition 27-29 May 2022

The started very light on the 1st day and increased gradually to quite strong on the 3rd day of pelagic expedition but everyday we had good observations with a great surprise on the 27th of May - the first record of Black-capped Petrel for Madeira archipelago! Again, Bulwer's Petrel Bulweria bulwerii, Cory's shearwater Calonectris borealis and Manx shearwater Puffinus puffinus puffinus were watched everyday.

29th May 2022 - Southwest wind shifting to West wind up between 13 and 17 knots and 1.5 to 2 meter waves from southwest.

28th May 2022 - WNW wind between 7 and 8 knots, northwest swell up to 1 meter and 0.5 meter waves from same direction
Storm-petrel on the way up - just a glimpse which did not allow an ID

27th May 2022 - NNE wind up to 4 knots and a swell from same direction up to 0.5 meters
Pomarine Skua Stercorarius pomarinus - flying far away, on the way to the chumming position
