Tony Mainwood (Scotland) has kindly sent his special records of butterflies for Madeira archipelago:
"I thought you might be interested in these photos of a Lang's Short-tailed Blue taken near the research station on the Desertas on 28th July 2009.
We also saw a Queen of Spain Fritillary on Madeira main island on 30th July 2009 at a place I am told is called Estanquinhos. It was up on the plateau in a conifer woodland and there were large numbers of Madeira Grayling as well as Long-tailed Blues and a few Small Coppers and Clouded Yellows."
