On a half-day birdwatching tour on the 11th of February 2009 4 species of larks were seen on a flock in Caniçal. These are the interesting sightings from that Madeira Wind Birds tour:

4 Woodlarks Lullula arborea - possible species, very difficult to get a good view of it

1 Common Sandpiper Actitis hypoleucos
1 Spotted Sandpiper Actitis macularius

Pallid Swifts Apus pallidus
Plain Swifts Apus unicolor
1 Common Sandpiper Actitis hypoleucos
1 Pectoral Sandpiper Calidris melanotos
