What a great way to start a Zino's Petrel pelagic Expedition watching 9 birds at close range within 3.5 hours of chumming! The other 2 afternoons we searched for different breeding species and had some successful sightings within the constant passage of Bulwer's Petrel Bulweria bulwerii and Cory's shearwater Calonectris borealis.
2nd July 2022 - NNE wind between 8 and 10 knots. NE waves up to 0.8 meters

Barolo’s shearwater Puffinus baroli - came to feed close to the boat for a few seconds and flew away

Madeiran storm petrel Oceanodroma castro - 1 bird fed on the chum slick for about 7 minutes
